Preschool continued
So Mackenzie started her first day of Preschool on Tuesday and for those of you who don't know this I really struggled with whether or not I should send her. I felt like as a mom I should most certainly be able to handle teaching her the things that she needs to know. As a human though I definitely struggle in the schooling department both in teaching and learning. So for now we decided to send her and I am so glad I did. She was talking about it for weeks in advance especially after her book bag arrived. Also when I picked her up she was all smiles and a bundle of energy. When we first started looking into it we looked at five different ones all with in 3 miles of our house and all at churches. It was really important to us that she get the christian values put into her learning. We ended up going with Covenant United Methodist Church. It is a smaller program which I really liked. They only have 2 three year old classes and they are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to noon. She has 11 other kids in her class a long with her Teacher who is a Christian and the aid. I don't know of her relationship with Christ. The teacher is so loving and enthusiastic. I could see from the very beginning that she loved what she was doing and was honored to have our kids. Each week she sends home the plans for the week. I hope to post her items up at home and continue working with her throughout the week. This week she will be working on her letter A, the next week b, and after C they will then go over the three together. The school does allow opportunities for moms to come in and help so I am going to try and do that if I can. As a mom I am so excited for her and she is learning and meeting new people. I am also praying that the things that we have been teaching her will stick with her while she is not with me.
