I feel like all I have been doing lately is travel and it doesn't look like it will be slowing down anytime soon. Last week I went to Charlottesville to visit family as well as help my sister in law. She had major surgery and will be out for 6-8 weeks so I prepared some meals for her. I also went to some friends house who will be keeping Mackenzie while Travis and I are away on our missions trip. Mackenzie had a blast with them and I know she will do great with them.
I then went to Lynchburg on Friday and Saturday to visit my other sister in law and some friends. Like I said we had a blast I am just very tired. Mackenzie did great with staying on her schedule. We had a huge accomplishment this week. Mackenzie slept through the night every night but one and when I layed her down for her naps she only gave me problems for one of them. That is a big thing for me because usually when I go there I can plan for no sleep and usually by the second night I am ready to get her home so I can sleep. I took her quilt that is in her bed plus her blanket that she uses every night. I don't know if that was the secret or if it is because she is getting older. At any rate I was extremely pleased. Today we went to the beach this evening with my family. This will be the last trip with my sister and her two kids. They leave tomorrow afternoon to go back home. It has been great having them here to visit. I think we have had more opportunities this time around for the whole family to be together which has been great. Jacob and Jade have had so much fun with Mackenzie. I have really enjoyed seeing them play so well with each other.

Father's day
Father's day was very nice we didn't do a lot. Unfortunately I didn't get to spend a lot of it with Travis. That is the one sad thing with Travis job. Besides Christmas and Thanksgiving I don't get to spend a lot with him and even those two he still may get a call just typically not during the most important times. I know it is only for a season and eventually he will be able to be more flexible with his work hours. Until then I will appreciate the time that we do have.
Saturday night we celebrated Father's day at my parents house. My dad cooked the best steaks ever on the grill, along with vegetable kabobs, grilled shrimp, rolls and pistachio. After eating we swam in the pool and then later in the evening they started a fire and had smore's. My mom bought a fire pit last week so they have used it a lot. I had to skip out on the last part unfortunately because Mackenzie would not cooperate. Mackenzie has really been struggling with her sleeping when it is not at our house. Again, it saddens me and frustrates me because I have to miss out on a lot of the activities at night time at my parents house with my sister visiting. Mackenzie used to be really good at sleeping there so I am hoping that it is only a phase and that I can figure out why this is happening. Especially since I will be leaving her for 11 days and she will not be at home during this time. On Sunday we attended church and then I traveled to Richmond with my family where we went to my Aunt's in laws house where we had a cookout and went swimming in there pool. Travis had to stay back and work. For Father's day I bought Travis a new tv. He has wanted one for a while. It's a 42 in philips lcd 720 that doesn't mean much to be but for some it will.
Being able to be apart of these holidays has been such a blessing and honor for both Travis and I. I think God everyday for giving me such a hard working husband which allows me to stay home. Also for leading us as we journey through this world becoming closer to God and becoming better servants for him.

Learning
Mackenzie had her first accident last week. she was crawling outside and fall flat on her face leaving a goose egg right under her eye, then following that she fell down 3 steps. It was a rough day for her. On a more positive note Mackenzie and I have continued to stay busy while my sister is visiting.
We use my parents pool just about everyday and the kids are really enjoying it and so are the adults.
We have gone too the zoo
I was also able to get out with Suzanne and my family and go to the commodore which is a dinner theater.
I have finally figured out why Mackenzie has been having such a difficult time in the car. For those who didn't know she has always been a great traveler which is great since I travel a lot. We moved Mackenzie to the next step car seat about 3 months ago so she is able to sit up. The problem with that is the air conditioning is blocked by her seat so with in a couple of minutes she is soaked so she starts to fuss making it worse. I am not sure what to do to solve the problem but I figure knowing is a start.
Mackenzie has also learned how to suck out of a straw. I think her cup with the straw works better for her than her sippy cup because she couldn't figure out how to hold her cup up while sitting up. Using the cup with the straw is easier for her to hold.
We continue to work on her sign language using her baby Einstein "first signs". Also the v.smile infant baby development which has three different ways to use it. It has dvd's that you can use, a learn and explore section, watch and learn and playtime. The dvd's that we have are Bob the Builder "Bob's busy day's", "Discover with baby Mickey and Friends" which teaches daily activities, "A day on the Farm" which has sing a long songs, counting etc and the last one that I have is "Pooh's hundred Acre Wood Adventure" which teaches colors, animals and more. It ranges from age 9mo to 36mo.

10 month stat
I can't believe it but she is 10 months already. It two months she will be a year old. I had a break down yesterday. I decided it was time to try something different with Mackenzie's sleeping. She has been for about a month now only sleeping for like 30 mins during the day and sometimes only once a day. It has been really exhausting and I knew I had to do something. Today she slept til 9 am and then I kept her up til about 1:30 she slept til 3:30 and then went down at 7. I know she is still suppose to be taking two naps and even though I only have one child I believe every child is different. From the very beginning Mackenzie has always showed that she is not interested in sleeping nearly as much as I have seen other kids sleep. She was in a great mood today and went to sleep for the first time in three weeks at 7 o'clock. Hopefully this week will be like today.
At 10 months she is pretty much eating anything and everything excepts nuts. She is starting to get more independent with her eating and drinking. she can now drink out of her sippy cup with the straw and she will pick up food on her own now for the past couple of months. She loves eating mum mum's and puffs. We have tried the original, vegetable and strawberry with the mum mum's and for the puffs we have tried apple mango and strawberry kiwi whole grain. The mum mums' are great for keeping her busy while we are driving in the car. She has my addiction to ice cream already. obviously, I only give her a few bits but the minute she see's me pulling it out she starts to kick and laugh and smile. It is the cutest thing ever. The last ten months have gone by so fast. I don't want to wish time away but I can't wait to celebrate her first birthday.

Family time
Not a lot of new things have been going on. Suzanne had to go back home for a couple of days to take care of some business so I am watching her two children during the day til she gets back. It definitely makes me think about the future. It is not easy watching all of them especially at the age that they are at. Travis and I would like to have our kids closer in age so after doing this I can imagine that I will become more tired and have less free time on my hands. We are ready to have more children whenever God allows it and we would like to have 4 to 5 children. again that is only if God allows that. Last week I spent Friday and Saturday morning preparing for a graduation party for my brother and two friends. The party was fun, we had a cook out and spend the afternoon/evening swimming and spending time with about 40 other people. Mackenzie has really enjoyed being in the water so that has been really nice being able to do that especially since it has been so hot outside. I think this summer is going to be a hot one.
Mackenzie is definitely getting older and requiring more attention. She is not interested in sleeping a lot during the day. That has also made it hard for me when it comes to the night time sleeping because by the time I get her to lay down for her day nap she is not interested in sleeping when 7 o'clock rolls around. I plan on focusing a lot of my attention on her sleep pattern for the next couple of weeks. Hopefully we will get it solved. I don't necessarily mind her not napping as long as she is in a good mood. Some days can be extremely tiring and long when she becomes more "clingy" throughout the day. I have found that from 5-7 she requires a lot of my attention which becomes hard since that is dinner time and I have a lot of things that I need to accomplish. I am not sure why she becomes this way but it has been this way for quite sometime.
She continues to change everyday and I am amazed as I watch her. I love the stage of life that she is in. She is constantly talking, smiling and laughing. She like most babies has her moments of fussiness but for the most part I have been blessed with a very happy baby. She has also got in a standing position now 2 or 3 times and held the position for about 20 secs or so before falling over. Everyone at church calls her the "church baby". I can never keep up with her because she is constantly being held by someone else. I am so blessed to have so many people love her and the fact that she is willing to let so many people hold her.
