Preschool Halloween Party

One of the many blessings of being a stay home mom is being able to participate with Mackenzie when she has events at school. This year is her first year in preschool and she is absolutely loving it. I think it has been good for her to get out as well. So at the party they decorated cookies, had a trunk o treat and ate lots of food with their classmates. The teachers also gave them a gift to take home which consisted of a cup that said go out and light the world and it was filled with goodies.

Holidays

Man it seems like when October hits our house we don't stop running til the New Year. The time just goes by so fast its sometimes hard to stop and enjoy the moment with my girls. Both of the girls are growing up so fast. Mackenzie is just loving life and the activities that Winter offers our family. This year we did something different for Halloween and I think we will continue to do it. We went to our friends Halloween party, they had games for the kids, games for the adults and of course you can't forget....food. What is a party with out food. Unfortunately it was in the evening so Emma dressed up for the occasion and then headed off to bed right after pictures. I am so thankful that my kids are flexible and are able to sleep at other peoples houses so we can still enjoy such events. Of course we also went trick o treating the night of with my sister and her kids, my parents and my brother and his fiance and son. The more the merrier I say. I am so glad I am able to pass these little traditions down to my kids. I have such fond memories growing up doing the same things with my friends. We also got to take a trip to Charlottesville and meet my Sister in Laws and some of their friends for the day and go to a pumpkin patch. The kids had so much fun I think we will make it a yearly thing. They had corn mazes, farm animals, hay rides and tons of different things for the kids to play on and slide down. I think the gigantic slide was Mackenzie's favorite thing to do. We dressed up as thing 1 and thing 2 and Mackenzie was the cat in the hat. Unfortunately, we couldn't find anything for Emma so she was our beautiful fairy.

They had to eat the doughnut off the string without using their hands. they also played pin the nose on the pumpkin and they had a pumpkin bins you had to throw balls in.

Fall Festivities

Petting the animals at the state fair.

Every year our church puts on a fall festival and my mom happens to be the children's director at our church and I think she does a fabulous job. It is like going to a carnival except a lot cheaper. They have food (which is free), face painting and usually 2 or 3 different rides along with blow up obstetrical courses. She also has different games where you can win prizes, and again the best part is everything is free. This year Mackenzie got to spend the day doing it wit her cousins so that was even a bigger bonus for her. I just love this age with Mackenzie she is getting so big and she is definitely my crazy and daring girl. she will do just about anything.

Grandparents Con't

 Typically little sister....Following big sister

I just love that we are so blessed to have my grandparents the girls great grandparents and my parents all living so close to us. We went one night with my parents out to the local park where we fed the geese, had some fun on the play ground and then ended the night at dairy queen. Perfect evening...
